I`ve read that some programs/games (or all) that i enjoy now with xp , will not work if and when i upgrade to vista in a few years.
Is this correct? i would have thought vista would be able to use previous software or will they then be useless?????

I never heard that. I used the the Vista Beta 2 for a while, and most of my programs worked fine. At the most, you just need to run in compatibility mode. I haven't been keeping up with news on it, though, so I could be wrong. Still, you should be able to use most older software, and anything that runs on Xp.

Vista's compatibility mode is much better than the one that comes with XP - and it also lets you run as a normal user or as an administrator.

I haven't had any problems with it, but I have had problems with several anti-virus apps designed for XP. So I'd expect that you'd at least run into some "glitches".
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
