Hello everyone. I've got a problem with Win Antivirus Pro popping up once in a while. Also a few other internet explorer windows popping up, but I can't remember what they are. They have always been different sites. Also, I noticed that if I create a new user on my computer, and try to open IE with that user, nothing happens. So I go to the internet properties and manage the IE addons. There are a lot in there, and when I disable ddcyv.dll I can then open IE. Just thought I'd give you some insight. Here is my HijackThis log:

Hi Draxis,

I suspected that you had a Vundo infection on your computer. As Vundo targets HijackThis, I asked you to rename the tool. So the following files appear (not all unsafe):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1DAEFCB9-06C8-47c6-8F20-3FB54B244DAA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\tkrlvvpl.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1DC03BE3-DB40-4CBA-BDA2-67B2C6F7416D} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyv.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {630D3157-B9EA-4B1C-8F08-6BE8B62C2374} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyv.dll
O2 - BHO: SSVHelper Class - {761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\ssv.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {a43385f0-7113-496d-96d7-b9b550e3fcca} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar2.dll

O20 - Winlogon Notify: ddcyv - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyv.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: WgaLogon - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WgaLogon.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winjks32 - winjks32.dll (file missing)

* Please turn off "Word wrap" in Notepad to increase readability.

* Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log in a reply to this thread.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Hi Draxis,

* It seems you are missing one important program on that computer: an antivirus.

You need to install an antivirus program as soon as you can and run a complete scan of the computer:Install it and then run a full scan. Let it quarantine/delete anything it finds. Let us know if there is anything that it reports but can not remove.

* Please disable Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

Open Windows Defender.
Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

* Please re-open HijackThis and scan. Check the below entries:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1DAEFCB9-06C8-47c6-8F20-3FB54B244DAA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\tkrlvvpl.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1DC03BE3-DB40-4CBA-BDA2-67B2C6F7416D} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyv.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {630D3157-B9EA-4B1C-8F08-6BE8B62C2374} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyv.dll (file missing)

O20 - Winlogon Notify: winjks32 - winjks32.dll (file missing)

Close any open windows except for HijackThis then click on Fix checked. Restart your computer.

* Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.

Updating Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.

  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-1_5_0_09-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.
* Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:
  • Close all instances of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer
  • Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab
  • Click the "Delete Cookies" button
  • Next to it, Click the "Delete Files" button
  • When prompted, place a check in: "Delete all offline content", click OK
* Clean your Cache and Cookies in Firefox (In case you also have Firefox installed):
  • Go to Tools > Options.
  • Click Privacy in the menu on the left side of the Options window.
  • Click the Clear button located to the right of each option (History, Cookies, Cache).
  • Click OK to close the Options window
Alternatively, you can clear all information stored while browsing by clicking Clear All.
A confirmation dialog box will be shown before clearing the information.
* Clean other Temporary files + Recycle bin
  • Go to start > run and type: cleanmgr and click ok.
  • Let it scan your system for files to remove.
  • Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
  • Press OK to remove them.
* Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.
* Post the contents of the ActiveScan report with a new hijackthis log, please.

I download Antivir and it cleared some things up. I also updated Java and cleaned the other files as requested with HJT. I tried to run the Panda Software Active Scan, but it wasn't scanning any files. It downloaded the updates but never scanned anything. It just stuck on 0 files scanned. Here's my HJT report:

Hi Draxis,

Seems to be fine. Please re-open HijackThis and scan. Check the below entry:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {a43385f0-7113-496d-96d7-b9b550e3fcca} - (no file)

Close any open windows except for HijackThis then click on Fix checked.

* Restart your computer and tell us how the things are running now, please.

Your welcome

* Please create a new restore point as explained here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/h...temrestore.mspx

* Next,

This process will clean out your Temp files and your Temporary Internet Files. Please do both steps:

Step 1: Delete Temp Files
To clean out your temp files, click on Start and then run, and type %temp% and press the ok button.

This should open up the temp directory that your machine uses. Please delete all files that are found there. If you get an error when deleting a file, skip that file and delete all the others. If you had trouble deleting a file, reboot into Safe Mode and follow this step again. You should now be able to delete all the files.

Step 2: Delete Temporary Internet Files
Now I want you to open up Internet Explorer, and click on the Tools menu and then Internet Options. At the General tab, which should be the first tab you are currently on, click on the Delete Files button and put a checkmark in Delete offline content. Then press the OK button. This may take quite a while, so do not be alarmed with how long it takes. When it is done, your Temporary Internet Files will now be deleted.

Finally, and definitely the MOST IMPORTANT step, click on the following tutorial and follow each step listed there:

Simple and easy ways to keep your computer safe and secure on the Internet

Glad I was able to help and if there any other problems related to your computer please feel free to post them in the appropriate forum. Though we help people with spyware and viruses here at BC, we also help people with other computer problems! Do not forget to tell your friends about us!
