Hi everyone!
I am trying to run Microsoft MacroAssembler v.6.11.I used to have Norton antivirus and after deleting it, one dll file S32EVNT1.DLL was left in Windows\system32 directory. When I try to run the program MASM, I get a message that S32EVNT1.DLL an installable virtual device driver failed to initialize with a choice of cancel or ignore. When I chose ignore, I can often run MASM but I do not trust it.
I deleted the Symatec file and reference to it in the registry but I continue to get the errror message.
Any ideas how to get rid of it?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It appears that something else is calling that bugger. Search the registry for anything to do with Symantec or Norton. Backup the registry and then try deleting them carefully.

Also, try this free online scan to see if it's a hiccup in your registry (it's not just a malware scan, it'll check your registry, delete your Temp files, and defrag your hard drive!) http://safety.live.com
