So I've been struggling with this for a while now. I want to connect a VM running Metasploitable 2 on one pc to another pc via ethernet.

How would I go abouts doing that?

Best way is to make sure the VM and the target computer are either on the same subnet, or are on subnets that are on the same routable network. Either way, if you can ping each from the other, you're all set.
