My friends computer continues to pop up upon opening with a statement that says can't find javanet.exe.

Added by the W32/Vanebot-A worm and IRC backdoor.

I would try downloading AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 and then scan your computer.
Then visit Trend Micro's Housecall site and do a free scan. If the pop ups remain follow BC's malware removal guide.
