Help! My Drives Are Nuts!

Im a new user And couldnt find a place to put this. But whenever I try to use my floppy or CD-ROM, An error message comes up saying "the device is not ready". what should i do?

Did you recently connect those devices to your PC? If so, it may be the ribbons on reversed..
