Email Client Market Share

hey guys,

i need to find some data on the market share of various email clients.

what % use outlook, thunderbird, webmail, etc.

basically any statistics about email use would be helpful, any ideas on where to look?

A short Google search confirmed my previous experiences on developing these kinds of statistics. One has to pay to glean the information.

Companies like "The Radicati Group, Inc", a technology market research firm, provide reports on this kind of information at several thousand dollars each licensed copy.

I did find one small site that comments on it's noted browser usage over a short period of time.

Note the author's comment about share's being relative....

Hopefully, another here might steer you to another source of information.

E-mail clients, unlike browsers, do not leave public information about their use; consequently, data must be collected by polls, which are time-consuming and far more costly. I am not aware of any published information that is freely available.
You might want to create a poll here at BC as a start....
