Dear bleeping-supporters :)

I write to you once again, this time regarding following issue: IRP_MJ_SCSI kernel mode hook detected and bypassed on storahci.sys

I don't remember how it exactly happened. But after removing Norton, which is a very good antivirus program that I recommend, Defender features were grayed out (except Real time protection) and I couldn't enable them again. Few days later I decided to install Hitman Pro. It deleted few registry keys and some cookies. At the end, it detected the Kernel Mode Hook. I do not know what this is, but the program bypassed it, as it could not remove it. It is still somewhere there as Hitman Pro says.

Adware Cleaner and Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit did not detect anything on the last scan. Defender is making a deep scan now.

Once again, I would like to ask for some help. Thank you very very much in advance!

P.S / I have attached a Screenshot, a log-file from Hitman Pro and the two Farbar log files - Addition.txt and FRST.txt

Update:

Deep scan of Defender found and removed following:

PUA:Win32/CoinMiner

PUA:Win32/SpeedingUpMyPC

Defender features are still greyed out. Maybe it will change after a restart.

Hitman Pro is still detecting the Kernel mode hook!

Hi there,

I think that the issue persists. The main problem is that the options of Windows Defender are grayed out. The issue occurred after some virus or malware as I posted above was detected. It came out that they were two:

PUA:Win32/CoinMiner

PUA:Win32/SpeedingUpMyPC

After succeeding with enabling Defender (only real time protection), it detected and deleted them, the first of which many times - even after restart. It seems that they are deleted now, after scanning with few more antivirus and anti-malware programs. The IRP_MJ_SCSI kernel mode hook is not being detected anymore by HitmanPro.

I can see in the FRST log that group policies and registry entries were changed. I would need some help with fixing them. Maybe I can enable Defender fully after that.

I have an original Windows 10 ISO file, no DVD or CD.

Thanks a lot for your help!

The issue has been solved! After searching the whole internet for a solution, it came out that my last antivirus software had blocked some of the Windows Defender options. As you can see in the attached Fixlog, there were some *.ini files in the Group Policy, changing its settings.

This were the restrictions, which the FRST tool removed.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender: Beschränkung <==== ACHTUNG
GroupPolicy: Beschränkung ? <==== ACHTUNG

Many many thanks to nasdaq for his help!
