Hello all,

Regarding the pm setup, one of the conversations in my inbox is marked "deleted", but is still visible.  Does this just mean it was deleted by the other participant?  I only ask because I've made no changes, and am a paranoid fool about these sort of things

Thanks in advance

Yes, it means the other party deleted the message.

Regards

Nick.

All members on BC have an upper limit on the number of PMs they may have on file. I think for Members it is 300 or about that so if you are getting close to this limit it frees up space if you delete PMs once you are happy they are 'dead'. I have to say 'I think' and 'about 300' because I never sent or received very many before I got elevated to the dizzy heights of a Mod !  I still don't send a huge number but it is a lot more than I sent before my elevation.

If you want to check how many PMs you have sent you will find the numbers - how many you have sent and your total allowance - on the left towards the top the next time you send a PM.

I am going to be away until about the 22nd October. Time on-line will be reduced and my internet access may be limited. PMs may not be replied to as quickly as normal !

Does BleepingComputer give us a method to save or download or archive all of our personal messages from our forum membership?

Not that I'm aware of, and that includes for staff, too.

The storage limit tends to be way more than high enough for anyone to keep anything "important."   I nuke the majority of my PMs over time because once whatever the conversation was about is over it's highly unlikely it will ever be revisited again.   For those things that might be revisited again I do allow them to stay in my inbox.

Hi cafejose,

In my case, if I have a single PM that is active and I elect to save the PM conversation, I click "Archive Conversation." In my case this archived conversation is sent to my email on file. Location of this feature in a PM window:
