Hello. I am getting random BSODs referencing the Netio.sys driver_irql_not_less_or_equal error. I ran sfc /scannow and it states that "Windows Resource Protection" found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Please advise next steps to identify and correct this problem; it will be greatly appreciated. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 on an Asus G60JX (G51 series) laptop. Thank you very much!

Is that a legal install of Win 7U?

Typically...many of the illegal installs seem to have problems and multiple references to "corrupt files".

I ran sfc /scannow and it states that "Windows Resource Protection" found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

Perform the following as well since your are getting the above errors. Make sure you run 2-3 times as mentioned below
Click on Start menu
Type command to start searching
Right click on command prompt in list and select Run Administrator
Copy and Paste each the commands below into the command prompt and press Enter key

1. sfc /scannow (best to run 2-3 times, rebooting after each time)

2. (Windows 8 or higher)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

If any Errors are still found with sfc /scannow then:

Copy and Paste the following command, and press ENTER:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
This will copy sfcdetails.txt to your desktop
Upload sfcdetails.txt file

Hi!

Please run SFC Scan only once and attach CBS.log and not sfcdetails.txt. If it's too big, please use a file sharing service of your choice and provide the link.

Hi! In attempting to attach the CBS.log, I get a message stating that I "don't have permission to open the file, contact the file owner or administrator to obtain permission." Thoughts????

Hello again!

I followed your VERY clear instructions and am attaching the requested files (sfcfix.txt and cbs.txt). I did notice that when I ran sfc /scannow as directed, this time it said that it found corrupt files and was ABLE to fix them whereas previously, it stated that it found corrupt files and was NOT able to fix them! Let me know what you think about this and your analysis, etc. of the attached files. Thanks again for ALL of your help, very much appreciated!!

Hi!

I agree. Please run another SFC Scan and let me know if it reports no integrity violations. In case it does, please attach CBS.txt

Hi again! I ran SFC / Scannow and the response was: "Windows Resource Protection Did Not Find Any Integrity Violations." I didn't reboot between the last scan and this one, not sure if that matters. If it doesn't matter, do you think the resolution to the "corrupt files" issue addresses the original problem of the BSOD "Netio.sys driver_irql_not_less_or_equal error?" Thank you!
