Hello, a while ago I posted a logfile for my own computer here and you where very nice to give me a hand.
This time however I want to ask someone to look at this logfile, it is from my work computer and it crashes a lot. (Bluescreens and errors all over)

So please look at this and (please) let me know if I need to do anything to any of these entries.

Sorry - HiJackThis is runing from a temp directory and must be moved to run correctly

http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/index....=tpmod;dl=item5
Scroll down to the download section

Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
==========================

Download AVG Anti-Spyware from http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ and save that file to your desktop.

When the trial period expires it becomes feature-limited freeware but is still worth keeping as a good on-demand scanner.
1. Once you have downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double click it to launch the set up program.
2. Once the setup is complete you will need run AVG Anti-Spyware and update the definition files.
3. On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "Update now" link.
o Next select the "Start Update" button. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
4. Once the update has completed, select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
5. Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".
6. Under "Reports"
o Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
o Un-Select "Only if threats were found"
Close AVG Anti-Spyware. Do Not run a scan just yet, we will run it in safe mode.
1. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.

IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while AVG Anti-Spyware is scanning as it may interfere with the scanning process:
2. Launch AVG Anti-Spyware by double clicking the icon on your desktop.
3. Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
4. AVG will now begin the scanning process. Please be patient as this may take a little time.
Once the scan is complete, do the following:
5. If you have any infections you will be prompted. Then select "Apply all actions."
6. Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
7. Select the "Save report as" button in the lower lef- hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file. This is important).
8. Close AVG Anti-Spyware and reboot your system back into Normal Mode.

Thank you very much. I have already scanned this computer with Xoftspy and Norton Anti Virus and removed two Trojans (the first one was in a folder called "The Matrix has you").
So yeah I removed that and another one and Xoftspy comes out clean but I'll try AVG and Norton again even though I've heard that two anti viruses don't work well together and that's why I uninstalled both AVG and Norton when I installed Normann at my home PC.

I'll try them nontheless and please look at this log in the meanwhile, if it's clean I guess it's just this computer thats old but still I find it strange that it crashes so often. I get bluescreens many times a day and both IE and (Windows Explorer) uses 100% CPU all the time when I try to load pages, it doesn't do that at home when I occationaly use IE (I usually use Firefox BTW.)

The AVG link I posted is NOT the AV, but rather what used to be called Ewido - An antispyware program - please run it

You may want to print this or save it to notepad as we will go to safe mode.

Fix these with HiJackThis – mark them, close IE, click fix checked

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=explorer.exe "C:\Programfiler\Fellesfiler\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00007.exe"

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [_mzu_stonedrv2] c:\windows\system32\_mzu_stonedrv2.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SvcManager] hostc5.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [_mzu_stonedrv2] c:\windows\system32\_mzu_stonedrv2.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [_mzu_stonedrv2] c:\windows\system32\_mzu_stonedrv2.exe

DownLoad http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip or
http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/killbox.exe

Restart your computer into safe mode now. (Tapping F8 at the first black screen) Perform the following steps in safe mode:

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Standard File Kill. In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confimation to delete the file. Click Yes. Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

c:\windows\system32\_mzu_stonedrv2.exe
C:\Programfiler\Fellesfiler\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\ibm00007.exe
c:\windows\system32\hostc5.exe

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not exist. If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any.

START – RUN – type in %temp% - OK - Edit – Select all – File – Delete

Delete everything in the C:\Windows\Temp folder or C:\WINNT\temp

Not all temp files will delete and that is normal
Empty the recycle bin
Boot and post a new log from normal NOT safe mode

Please give feedback on what worked/didn’t work and the current status of your system

Thanks.

I'm sorry but I know I put an email subscription on this thread, but maybe it was lost somewhere in the universe or something.

Well, I downloaded the AVG. Please note that this connection is ISDN (yes apparently somebody still use that. LOL)
But I still downloaded it even if it took years...

I have currently done everything up to the temp dir, there was one file I couldn't delete because it was in use by another program, gonna shut down Firefox and try again. Here is the path/fliename of it.

C:\DOCUME~1\elev\LOKALE~1\Temp\~DF1167.TMP

Killbox gave me the message "file dont exist" on the first two files but I didn't miss any. So I guess thats cool.

Ok, I just rebooted into normal mode and everything seems fine and faster. Also I scanned and saved a logfile.

EDIT:

Yeah, the computer seems to be ok now. Thanks a lot
Even my boss says thanks

Hmm I didn't know AVG had a anti-spyware software in adition to the anti-virus, maybe I should get it for my own computer.
Finally thank you very much, you have been a great help and this computer seems to be as good as new. ^^
*shakes hand*
