I am cleaning up my laptop and noticed something. In the Windows folder on my C drive, I scrolled down. Below the WinSxS folder was a bunch of stuff. Some of it I know I can delete but not sure about all of it. What caught my eye was the explorer app. Can I delete all of it? Need input.

Assuming that you are referring to File Explorer, not Internet Explorer?

The Windows File Explorer is part of the operating system, as such I don't believe you can delete it.  But you can delete its file history.

There is a good tutorial by Brink at the Windows Ten Forum.

Thank you. I was wondering if everything below the WinSxS folder could safely be deleted. I have checked another 8.1 machine and it looks about the same, so I guess its OK. But thank you for the link. I learned another trick.
