Monitoring download/upload speeds & dropping

Yet again, my ISP is failing to deliver promised speeds, and I experrience frequent dropping. Can anyone recommend suitable freeware that will monitor (scan) up/download speeds & latency (including complete dropping) over a period of a few days? In the past, I have used pingplotter & speed test logger (logger.com) - both are a bit clunky - anything else out there? Many thanks
