Hello,

I currently have an HP Pro 3400 Series MT desktop pc.

I've been using that one for about six years now, and I'm quite happy about it. However, I do think it's time for a little upgrade now that I'm going to university.

I already ordered a laptop for university, since they had a discount offer, and since they highly recommended buying one.

However, I do want a desktop pc, I always had one, and I'm kinda used to it.

So, I'm looking for a new one that is low-budget but still improves on what I have now. Also, a model that can sustain itself for the upcoming five to six (or more) years, is also a thing I'd like.

The things I'm using it for are mainly Internet, schoolwork and a little gaming (e.g. World of Tanks, to give you an idea of what kind of graphics I "need").

Any suggestions?

Budget? Can you build yourself? Store (or country) you can buy parts? Does it have to be OEM machine?

I'm from the Netherlands. Never built one myself. So preferably one that I can just buy and use :P

OEM machine?

OEM machines are from big manufacturers like Dell, HP, Lenovo etc.

I don't know any shops in Netherlands that sells built computers. Any links for shops in there?

This one is a local store:

https://www.powerchip.nl/

Other Dutch stores:

https://www.mediamarkt.nl/nl/category/_computer-482710.html

I'll try to think of more...

From those, I would pick https://www.expert.nl/hp-570-a111nd

Solely because it seems to be cheapest with SSD. That's about all good about it though. Tbh that's even worse than your current machine on many aspects and looks like waste of money.

I suggest you put SSD to your current machine and perhaps bit better video card. That saves lot of money.

Hmm. Problem is that my current pc won't accept a new video card for some reason. Local tech store tried it as well, didn't work out...

I thing your PC does not support PCI Express 3.0 video cards, so look for used PCI Express 2.0 card.
