Hi,

I would like to know if the left mouse key that is missing on this HP 2000 laptop can be replaced? And if it can where would I get this part?

Anyone knowing if this is possible and where I would get the part and install it, your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

You can't replace a button, you need to replace the whole palm rest. You can get the correct number on HPs part surfer site.

Yeah and with that kind of money might as well buy a standard mouse

There are a few really good sub $30 mice out there, heck there are some that are pretty good for around $10 if money is a concern.

That $10.80 palm rest doesn't look like it has the keys under the trackpad.

It's called the button board and HP's part number is 646130-001; but, it is in the second photo of the item I posted.  It's underneath the metal cover and the cable is sticking out so it's there.
