My computer is cursed with Windows NT 4.0, and since I got it from my brother, I have been having problems with the sound lowering itself. I've checked all sound settings, and it has nothing to do with those, that I know of. What happens is, every time I play a song, as soon as the song starts, my wave volume goes to the bottom of the bar. If I raise it, as soon as I play a new song, it goes back down again. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

It happens in both. Another strange thing with my volume controls is that if I go to a website with music, my volume automatically goes up. It's only the wave volume, though. The master volume stays at whatever I set it to.

I didn't see it anywhere, so does that mean it doesn't have it?

Btw, there's another thing I'm wondering about. On this computer, if I leave it on for more than an hour, then every 6 seconds, it like skips/freezews forlike a half of a second. If I restart it, it stops, but it would be annoying to have to restart my computer every hour. It's not because I'm using too much RAM, because I always have at least 200 MB of that free. Would you happen to know if there's a common program that can cause that?

It may be powering down your hard drive. If you go into control panel there is a power icon. If this is a desktop machine you can turn off all power saving options.

Goto http://www.windowsupdate.com and download all the critical updates. Reboot until and visit the website until there are no more critical updates. That will ensure we have the latest service pack on there.

Well I don't know why, but there isn't a Power item in my control panel. I downloaded the updates, and I'm going to restart right after I post this. I get back to you when I get home from my sister's house later. Until then, I thank you for helping me.
