I'm here with a fresh install of Windows 7 64Bit that is running well.. quite slow actually.
much much slower than it was before a reinstall of OS.
Programs no longer pop open snappy and opening a browser window (or anything, including offline activities like opening C drive.. take around 5 mins before popping open with no further issues until you try to exit the program.
Same deal with the browser. Click the icon, it loads after dial-up speeds (the windows loading the browser window, not the browser connecting to the internet)
once browser finally opens that tab works fine and the user can visit URL's without hassle.
it's just moving between applications, or opening a new browser tab ot anything that would require the computer to load another program.
Want to open a calculator AND have a Netflix tab open? better come back in about 5 mins.
This computer has RxReboot installed on it, a freeware time machine for computers, as well as a few programs (like VNC)
I provided a list of all programs at the bottom of this post.
Why did you re-install the operating system?
ransomware! I got infected with Crabv4, pulled the ethernet cord, booted into safe mode and realized it would be safer, easier, faster to just nukacola the machine.
now a little background.
This computer used to be a Windows 64Bit computer when I first bought it.
Along the PC's lifetime, it got wiped and for some reason, I re-installed it using a Windows 7 32Bit Cd.. most likely because I did not have a set of install disks and used whatever I could find.
Now it worked great as a 32bitPC, but there are some applications I need to run for work that are 64bit, and the processor it comes with is built for 64bit.
so when mr.crabs came along I decided to revert it to a 64bit PC, as it should be and ventured to digital river mirror
grabbed a copy of en_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_x15-65805.iso
MD5 705b6aaa5cf406428c2ab5e4d76c0cc4 SHA1 561e22fb42db1ca8386125e3eacd0bbb2387d4b8
checked it's checksum with WinMD5Free
Then installed it.
This computer has a
AMD A6-Series A6-5400K Graphics Driver
The processor is a ABBXM-A with its drivers downloadable here > Dropdown > Windows 7 64bit
vga installed, auto installs Microsoft Net Framework 4.5 bios (did not touch) audio (I knew I forgot something! downloading driver now..) lan utilities bios_utilities chipset (installed. This auto installed AMD Cayalyst.) sata (could not get this one installed) qualified vendor list (skipped) hotfix (not yet installed) declaration of conformity (skipped)
after a fresh install of a Windows 7 64Bit verified safe install..
this computer is much slower than when it was a 32bit!
Here's what I can figure out.
The processor should be compatible with windows 7 64
It was after all a 64bit machine when I purchased it. However, I checked again searching for a tech sheet
and under ''MISCELLANEOUS''
Compatible with Windows 7" software and devices carry Microsofts assurance that these products have passed tests for compatibility and reliability with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7.
The computer should have plenty of space
