Is constantly present and pops a balloon up continually which says Critical System Error and then says that something is infecting my computer. Sometimes, a big advertisement comes and wants to analyze everything and then have me buy their program.

In reality, it is THEY who are the virus and I am sick to death of having them around. THEY are the parasite program but how do I get rid of them?

Unfortunately, I am a computer neophyte and even have a hard time undrstanding most of the computer lingo so it must be said, where I am concerned that I am somewhat of a computer ignoramus, I'm afraid.

Can anything be done to rid myself of this insidious, annoying, uninvited guest?

Don't panic BC provides a self-help removal guide:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/63896/how-to-remove-virusburst-removal-instructions/

If this seems a bit complicated for you to handle confidently after you read it, then you should post a HJT log so that a member of our volunteer team of experts can walk you through the removal. Instructions for submitting a log can be found here:

Regards,
John
