All of a sudden the battery shows zero charge. Charged overnight ( green circle never seen before). Morning batt is 100%. Won't turn on - batt dead. What gives?

I think the batt is dead. Source of new? Thx

Have a temporary substitute battery - If I remove the batt will I lose all data - pics, etc?

Or remove SIM first?

try plugging it into your computer first.....will the computer recognize the phone? so you can save pics?

ATT tech says no problem if remove battery, so I did and it reads 4 v, which it should, so it isn't the batt.

What can it be?  When I plug it into computer, batt profile shows a lightening symbol. Then it shows charging

in a green circle (Never seen before.??) and it goes to 100% in 10 seconds. Will not turn on, connected or free.

It's a Go-Phone and I still have $70, so I don't want to lose that. Any advice appreciated.

Sorry but this is not the correct conclusion !  With the battery out of the phone you are testing it off line when you will always get a higher voltage reading. Given that it appears to go from 0% to 100% in about 10 seconds and then, when you try using it, it shows no charge - this battery is dead. You need a new one.

My experiences, it was the actual port for the charger. I never got a solid connection so my battery never fully charged. It turns out it was a defect. I had 4 replacements in 40 days? Of the J3. Insurance, then warranty, but all a pain! I ended up with a J7 finally and found out, not sure if true, that J's were not developed for American market.

Battery is dead but it's easy to purchase a new batt without throwing out your phone altogether. (But in case there are other issues, you might end up doing this too).
