I got this while downloading a new version of Flash Player (at least I thought I was) but mac keeper some how came with it. Now I can't get rid of it (delete) until I pay for a subscription. Is this a virus or what? I am a new Mac user so I guess it got me good.

See this article here -

Or, if that doesn't meet your needs, type 'mackeeper' into the search engine of your choice and pick from the considerable number of hits.

And I haven't touched an Apple computer since my wife had one of the cube shaped all-in-ones, the ones with a blue or gray semi-translucent plastic body. !  There were a couple of other colours as well. iPads yes, because when I have to, I try to advise and teach people on how to use them.

I removed or disabled flash and java from my mac and windows pc. both are used frequently by hackers to exploit computers, and they cant exploit software that is not installed. I don't need or miss either one. JavaScript is also used to hack systems, but unfortunately without JavaScript most websites won't work correctly. That is the only reason I have not removed JavaScript.

Same here. That was one of the first things I done on the Mac.  :thumbup2:
