Senior, moderately skilled user, home PC on wired LAN with one other computer. For some reason I have been having connection issues with popup windows citing Firewall blocking. I have tried doing a reset in the Defender Security section but got no help. The issue came to light when I tried to connect to my router via its URL. My #1 computer was blocked but my #2 had no problem. Is there some way I can purge all INCOMING and OUTGOING rules and SETTINGS and start "fresh" with the firewall? Won't It reset itself at next reboot?

Please download Security Check by Screen317.

Double click on the download and choose to run the program.

A screen similar to the one below will open, click any key to run the program.

Thanks for your reply, Bleeping Treehugger. My problem has just been resolved... somehow I ran a fix-it program that installed many Outgoing Rules in my firewall settings. Removing them restored connection problems. I will gladly keep your suggestions in my files. Happy 4th!

FYI. You can reset the firewall in Windows 10 using the command prompt but this may be deprecated in the future. It is advisable to reset within Windows 10. I am assuming this is how you restored the firewall to default and solved your problem.

Hi, just for your info the netsh cmd has been carried over to powershell, open PS and type netsh /? for more info. So it isn't going anywhere soon. Also cmd has been added to powershell type:- cmd into powershell and you have a command prompt .
