So I want to buy a 240Hz monitor. The Dell Alienware AW2518HF which has a G-Sync version and a Freesync version.

Disclaimer: I don't care about G-sync or Freesync since I am a competitive player and I don't want any input lag.

The Freesync monitor has -150$ in price compared to the G-sync model and I want to get it with a lower price because of my budget.

So my question is. Can I play on the Freesync monitor with my Geforce GTX 970 on 240Hz?

Will it have compatibility issues if I drop below 240FPS? (waving at 180-240fps) On some games it goes 300+ fps
