Insider Build 1103 (I think) corrupted from rootkits

Removed rootkits, now sluggish & crashing on HP Compaq SFF Pentium Duo-Core 3.1 ghz, 8GB ram, 256 GB Hitachi sata. Had to run system restore to get it to install Malwarebytes. Each time I try any windows commands, it hangs. Popped drive & trying to copy data to diff. unit so I can Install Win 10 fresh copy, but one user account folders will not copy to external folder on HP Pavilion 3ghz, 8gb ram, 1 TB HD with win 8.1. Never encountered anything like this b/c it WILL transfer from a different user account.  I even unchecked Read-Only but makes no difference. Safe Mode is no different. data in the files will open but what would prevent them from copy/paste?

 

How do I install a fresh copy of Win 10 to wipe out the Insider Preview Build? I cant access web with the only browser installed Edge, and can't install anything else.

Get the ISO for the specific build of Windows 10 you want, use Rufus or similar to create a bootable USB, then follow the instructions for Doing a Completely Clean Install of Windows 10

You will find detailed information in this Microsoft windows insider user guide with detailed steps to leave the Windows Insider Program and recover your computer. Examples of headers (not all) in the article:

  1. Recovering a PC
  2. OS Reinstall
  3. Roll-back to Prior Build
  4. Stop receiving Insider builds

  6. Leave the program
  7. Unregister
  8. Unenroll

 

Personally, I encourage you to carefully read each paragraph so to find the right direction specific to your needs. Hopefully this information will get you on the right path.  :)

I am a Windows 10 Insider and I have not heard of build 1103. Can you use winver to tell us exactly what build you are having problems with.

You might be running version 1803 build 17134 or something like that. There is no such thing as a build number with just 4 digits, that would be the version number, and there has never been a version of Windows 10 that is like 1103.

 

Did you perform a clean install of this insider edition?

 

How long have you been an insider?

 

What version and build of Windows 10 were you running prior to installing this insiders build?

 

Is this on a daily use machine or just a test machine?

This error looks like it may be the update error 1103.


Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
