Usually where ubuntu fails Mint is better

Yep I've downloaded mine as I prefer the first edition releases over the point releases although will wait awhile before installing any of them.

What I've read on Linux Mint forums is good although a few bugs here and there however that is to be expected with any new release.

I just want to be able to configure my mouse pointer speeds, is that so difficult Linux devs, please explain this to me?  And yes I have configured them Manually but it is a big pain, and don't always work on some distros.

Meaning its built into the settings :D

Granted this does mean a switch to cinnamon for you if you decided to try out Mint 19

I can adjust mouse pointer speed in Mint's Cinnamon?  I need to do some more distro hopping before I decide.  Most likely going to some kind of KDE.

Hey that's your choice I mean you will have to make the jump eventually to another operating system as within a year or so Linux Mint 17 won't be supported much longer

Yeah, but does it work?

None of the times I've tried it in all other distros it did not work, except I did not try it in Cinnamon in a long time.  Just downloaded Cinnamon 18.3 to see, so you better be right lol.

Auto Updates for Mint 19! yeah, now can install for more seniors if needed.

That may not be in 18.3 as I know it is in cinnamon 3.8 but not in 3.6

I snagged copies from the server at my alma mater, James Madison University.  The 64-bit version is downloading as I type.

It's been so long since I used my Linux machine last that I've forgotten the password I used for it.  All the more reason to install Mint 19 Cinnamon from scratch (and to remember to add the password information to my password manager).
