Hello there,

I am in need of some advice for purchasing an Apple Mac for my sons architecture course. He is now in his 3rd year and requiring an Apple Mac, which has been recommended by friends.

He has many programs to run from it, including Rhino, Cad, etc.. plus much more

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Price is not really an issue.

Thank you,

Poppy.

Not that it hurts to be seeking input here, but the best source in this case should be from the university itself, specifically the faculty in the department he's studying in.

If they're dictating that a Mac must be used then they should also know the minimum specs and recommended specs for the Mac laptop they want him to use.  I would also check to see if the Mac is a must, as most software related to architecture is available on both the PC and Mac platforms, and Macs are much more expensive (and, if you're not already a Mac user, more than a bit of a learning curve to adjust to when coming from the PC or Linux worlds).

Thank you for the advice.

All I know is that all his friends at the Uni have Macs and have recommended one.

Kind Regards, Poppy.
