Firefox not opening in Win10 since March. How to retrieve history b4 uninstall?

Hi, 

 

Machine is a Surface Pro 3. Firefox hasn't been opening at all since late March. Seems to be a common problem connected to a Windows Update. I can see I need to uninstall and then reinstall (maybe more than once) to get it working again. Is there a way to get my open tabs and history as a list before doing this? I can't remember what the history settings were except that it was set to reopen with the last lot of tabs. I am aware that the Firefox profile should store bookmarks which would be available again once a reinstalled version works.

Do you make routine backups of the O/S and installed programs?
