I had AdwCleaner version 7.1 (or 7.1.1) and upon running, the product announced a new version available.  I run 7.1 anyway with no troubles.

Later, I used Bleeping Computer's download page for AdwCleaner and then ran the program.  Product gave message again, new version available and ask if I want to download it.  I already did that.

Maybe forum or B.P. site administator needs to fix the download link!  The link needs to bring the user version 7.2.

A brief web/internet search for AdwCleaner gave a listing to MalwareBytes and the correct version 7.2 of AdwCleaner was available and downloaded from there; which I did and used.  This done before the link edit on Bleeping Computer.
