So, now that Windows 8.1 mainstream support has ended, I was wondering if there was a way to still get updates, like in this windows xp registry hack: https://www.zdnet.com/article/registry-hack-enables-continued-updates-for-windows-xp/

Mainstream support doesn't mean the end of Security Updates. Extended Support expires in Jan 2023. Security Updates will still be available until that date.

I know, I was just wondering if there was a way to get extrended support for features (not security updates/bug fixes)

Not that I am aware of. I don't believe you will find any software or hack that will do that unlike the XP POSReady hack.
