How come Microsoft Office Word 2016 (Win 10) has this thumbnail for "docx"? Compared to the "97-2003 word document" which shows the "W" logo, the "docx" looks funny as its just a white sheet of paper without a "W".  It will still use MSFT Word 2016 to open it when I click on it but the thumbnails looks like wordpad or something.

Even the two different excel spreadsheet formats, show the "X" logo.

Hi irvineboy!

For a potential fix, what operating system are you running? Directions are different from W7 and W10.
