Last month when doing one of the Dell updates my PC restarted and right after the Dell boot screen I get the blank screen with a white bilking bar. I tried get help on the Dell and Microsoft support forms so far nothings worked Here's a link so someone can see what I tried https://www.dell.com/community/Inspiron-Desktops/Blank-screen-with-blinking-white-bar-after-quot-Dell-quot-boot/m-p/6089755#M5191

I was able to view the files in my Hard Drive with "try Ubuntu" on a bootable USB drive so I don't think its hardware issue.

Having had a look at your Dell forum topic and, since your Ubuntu test drive seems to show your HD as OK, I would re-boot into Ubuntu and at least make sure that any important data on this computer is backed up to external storage.

Then try doing a repair install of Win 7 if you have a Win 7 install disc to hand.
