So I have several issues, I have no idea if any of them are linked with each other and I have tried to fix them with no success. First a problem that doesn't need to be fixed but might be linked is the troubleshooter doesn't work and I have enabled BITS, Cryptographic services and windows update. Any time I download an update it says update was not installed. I followed a guide by Microsoft and downloaded the System update readiness tool. "Windows Update error 0x80070490 is the error it gives . First time I ran it had a service registration missing or corrupt as well.

I continued to follow a guide that said to use the command " Ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak " , I got an error " Access is denied ". (I am the only use and administrator). I also looked at the event id checker and seem to have a few error 31.

Also my trouble shooter doesn't work (doesn't bother me too much but I don't know if this is part of the problem), it gives me the error code 0x80070005.

I tried disable my antivirus eset nod32 by uninstalling it but that led me to a bluescreen flash on boot for some reason that I fixed with a system restore.

The priority problem is updating windows. I linked images which show more information and I attached cbs log from the sfc /scannow command. Sorry if it's a lot but I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.

Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):

post-33068-0-86653600-1480692866_thumb.j

Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot.

Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the ADD REPLY or REPLY TO THIS TOPIC button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

Apologies for taking up your time, I was recommended to seek out another site that deals with cbs logs while I was waiting for a reply to this topic. I appreciate the help but the problem is solved, thanks anyways :)
