Hey :) Iv'e had a Wifi USB Dongle for two years and it was working fine.. I broke it , then had to buy new one and it is working strangely now! when i Plug the usb in, the wifi icon appears on the taskbar, but there is a red sign on it and it can not find any available networks.. so at first i thought this is because of the distance between the USB wifi adapter and the modem, I have a homestudio in the basement and the modem is in the first floor, so i tried to share my cellphone data connection and see if it can find it and yes it did.. but when i connected to my cellphone hotspot network over wifi the available network list suddenly updated and found my home network wifi! and got connected to that too! So now, every time i turn the pc on i have to share my cellphone network and connect to the hotspot , and then wait to find my home wifi network! OTHERWISE it won't find any available networks and the red sign is always there .. So , any idea of how to solve this silly problem?

I have windows 10

Yes I installed the drivers

Yes I Checked if they are updated and Yes they were updated

Yes I deleted the previous USB Dongle Drivers

Yes I have network discovery turned on ( not sexually)

And Yes my English is bad :)

Sorry and Thank you .

did you delete the previous dongles connection software?  not the drivers, but the connection software.  it will overtake control of the windows connectivity settings.

I never use the connection software that comes with wifi adapters, i always install just the stand alone driver and let windows control everything.

what model is the wifi dongle and what model is the router/modem your connecting to.  just curious if they are compatible with each other.
