Monitor does not show lights or sign of power, cpu is booted on

My ViewSonic monitor has no display and no colored lights on its power button yet the cpu is on and the display adapter connection is not loose, does this mean the monitor is dead?

Somewhat confused a5tech as in your thread here you say that the computer itself is dead, are both the computer and the monitor not powering up?
