I replaced a router last week and although it detected all my devices, one PC is listed as off.  When I try to connect to the internet it says no internet access and no available connections are found.

I have been on tech chat a few times without results. They suggested their advanced phone tech support but they wanted $49 for a one time session, which I declined as this is a backup PC.

I have scoured the net and found this is an age old problem.  I have tried every suggestion, some more than once to no avail.  some people have had luck by updating the adapter driver but without Win 7 support, no drivers are available.  This one is a 2 Gigabit from 2009.

I have had many problems with Win 7 updates, some never installed no matter what I did.  That may be the reason I could not download Win 10.

Since I am no computer whiz, I doubt if I will find a solution for this issue.

Would an external adapter work?

are you trying to connect wireless? or is the computer plugged into the router?

I was just wondering, if I drag this PC to the room where the router is, if that would help determine if it is a distance problem or an adapter problem?

try disconnecting from that network, and connecting to your network,

do you know your networks name and password?....did you set a new password after installing the new router?

I'm not sure what you mean. I disabled the unidentified and the other one takes me to where you set it up with net name and password; it only shows as a broadband connection which does not work, keeps trying to do a dial up.

yes, new password was set.

One tech suggested changing the network name and password but I am not sure that would solve the problem.

This issue was resolved with a $12 generic external WiFi adapter.
