my disk usage goes to 100% with the slightest use.

if i scan with an anti-malware my disk usage goes to 100%. i can not do any thing else during the scan. my PC is slow afterward. my PC acts like it is tired.  

 

it has been like this for a long time. i have an i5, 2.7ghz. 8gb, ddr4 RAMM. windows 10 fall creators update. 

 

i have done a chkdsk, and an sfc/scannow. i have disabled superfetch and search indexing. i have increased the page file. i have updated all the drivers through device manager.

Follow each fix in the below page except fix 9. On fix 1 do not do it if you do not have the inbox driver listed. Only do one fix at a time, reboot and see how disk usage is.

Do you get 100% disk usage when doing a clean boot? If not enable a few startup items and services until you can determine what process is causing the usage.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!  Been wrestling with this for years.  Changed the Power Settings - went down to 2% usage. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
