Build a desktop with a touch monitor

Dear folks
 
Can we attach a touch screen monitor to a desktop that I am looking to build up ?
Any special connections needed ?
Is it common practice ?
 
I know there is all in computer with touch screen monitor

A desktop can use any monitor, touchscreen or not.

The monitor specs should reveal such, if they exist.  Take a look at the documentation.

 

I cannot think of any reason that such would exist...a monitor just connects to provide visual output from the system.

they are mostly usb now, some older ones used a db9 serial connection but that's not so common anymore.

 

nothing special is needed, windows 10 will install with default drivers.  windows 7 you'll need to install drivers.
