I have a row of text files on desktop that I can't remove. Tried clearing icons

Hello all. Don't know how it happened. the row is down the left side on my screen. I can make it bigger so that it shows all the text files that I have on my computer. Just can't find a way to remove it. When I go online it dosen't show than. Was hoping someone else had this problen too. Any help on this would be apprecited. Thanks in advance. Chuck

try clicking on the tiny black double arrow at the bottom

That looks like a Toolbar that was created by right clicking the Taskbar and selecting Toolbar > New Toolbar. If you want to remove it permanently then right click the Taskbar > Toolbar > Click on the Toolbar with a checkmark.

 

If you right click the bar does it give the option to close it?
