Wild guess...could be an indication of a corrupt/damaged profile.

how long do you let it set on that screen?  it could take as long as an hour or even more depending on your system spec's.

if your only waiting a couple minutes then just let it run for a while.

@mightywhiz - I used to let it run when it was just a few mins and it'll be fine but now it's been more than 6 hours and still counting.

On another computer download and run Lazesoft Recovery Suite. Create a bootable USB or DVD. Use the dropdown box to select your version of Windows 7 on the computer that has the problem. Boot the DVD or USB flash drive on the affected computer and select the Password Recovery module. Enable the Hidden Administrator Account. Exit Lazesoft, reboot and see if you can access the computer using the enabled Administrator Account.

So everything has been working fine and suddenly your system has this issue - or has something been changed on the system prior to this issue?

Is the installation new or have you created/modified any new or existing user accounts?

Are you able to get into Task Manager with Ctrl-Alt-Del?

@jose - Previously, there was a corrupt registry in my system and I got the BSOD but somehow or rather, I managed to copy the old registry and got the system working. However, now whenever I shutdown and reboot the system,it will show me the profile as if it's a new profile. And yes,I can get to the Task Manager if I ctrl-alt-del.

Was "Previously" recently and after the registry was somehow managed to be copied was that the last time the system worked properly?

That's good (Task Manager works) but so you can at least navigate.

I'll wait and see what happens next with this lazesoft.  Never used that but might see how it works.

Reading about a corrupt profile will not help you if you can't login to do something about the corrupt profile - maybe there are more instructions forthcoming.

@jose - Yes,the registry was fixed and it works fine except for the 'groundhog day' behaviour.
