Every time I start up my computer I get 2 messages. Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely? and this webpage certificate is not valid do you wish to proceed? I use an old Firefox version and have XP SP3. Is this a Windows generated message or Firefox? How can I keep them from recurring- they are very annoying. I think it may have something to do with my connection dropout problem because sometimes when I delete the messages my computer connection will work again. I use Localnet dialup connection. thanks once again

I would try a more current (Firefox ESR) version.  Version 52.7.4 is the one I run on my XP install.  Any error re a website...is probably generated by your browser or your security software, IMO.

Webpage certificate is not valid errors many times are caused by the date and/or time being incorrect.

Check the date and time.

If the system is losing time, replace the battery.

It takes a CR2032 which is available for cheap.

Given the age of the system, this could be the cause.

In the beginning there was the command line.

Thanks for replies. I have ESR 52.4.0 and wouldn't think that small version difference would matter. I have Panda free AV and haven't had any problems Louis. I have Malwarebytes but haven't been able to update it for over a year now - could that be a problem? My time is correct Eyesee but I've wondered about my battery for a long time as it has never been replaced. I think it's the original battery. I was given the computer in 2008 and it's 2003 vintage. Hard to imagine a battery lasting that long but like I said the time is correct. I tried to update Firefox today but my connection failed after about an hour. thanks again

Make an adjustment to your Internet settings which applies to all browsers:

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates.
