Demonslay335  Has it been determined which one this is?  !!!RESTORE!!!.txt

Just caught this one from a USB drive ...

 • All your important files were encrypted on this PC.

 • All files with .PAUSA extension are encrypted.

 • Encryption was produced using unique private key RSA-1024 generated for this computer.
Thanks.

@TheKnack

You are describing a different ransomware than that of the original poster. Please do not hijack the thread.

I tweeted a hunt about your upload last week. According to Amigo-A it may be another iteration of STOP Ransomware, which is note decryptable. We can only confirm by acquiring a sample of the malware itself.

@Demonslay335

I did not mean to seem like I was hijacking a thread....

I was just referencing it as I also have the same ransomware ware that hit me on 5/5

The same .txt file and files were appended with a .PAUSA extension

I went to ID ransomware and uploaded the .txt and a sample as required...

id gave me SHA1: 361ec1b718b2efe65d364a6ba4be0a1d3abdd1a5

Thanks.

Since this infection is different, I split all related postings into a new topic until it can be identified (confirmed).

If you can find the malicious executable that you suspect was involved in causing the infection, it can be submitted here with a link to this topic...it's best to zip (compress) all files before sharing. There is a "Link to topic where this file was requested" box under the Browse button. Doing that will be helpful with analyzing and investigating by our crypto malware experts.

These are some common folder variable locations malicious executables and .dlls hide:
 • %SystemDrive%\ (C:\)
 • %SystemRoot%\ (C:\Windows, %WinDir%\)
 • %UserProfile%\
 • %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\
 • %AppData%\
 • %LocalAppData%\
 • %ProgramData%\ / %AllUserProfile%\
 • %Temp%\ / %AppData%\Local\Temp\
Note: Some folders like %AppData% are hidden by the operating system so you may need to configure Windows to show hidden files & folders.

Also check the history logs and quarantine folders for your anti-virus and other security scanning tools to see if they found and removed any malware possibly related to the ransomware.

Yes. Visual identifiers (text, title elements, signs, lexis) coincide with the main STOP Ransomare and its subsequent versions.

Us need a sample, or at least part of it.

All,

Thanks for looking at this.

Is there a possibility of decrypting this version of ransomware?

Thanks again.

If confirmed by Demonslay335 as another iteration of STOP Ransomware, it is not decryptable without paying the ransom. If possible, your best option is to restore from backups, try file recovery software or backup/save your encrypted data as is and wait for a possible solution at a later time.

All,

What is the official name or type of this ransomware other than "STOP Ransomware"?

Thanks.

TheKnack

This name is now more than official.

This is already a stamp on all life, if you know such an verbal expression.

@TheKnack

I've now added identification for this as part of the STOP ransomware family to ID Ransomware. RansomNoteCleaner should now also pull in the definitions for the note.

Since the infection has been identified, rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if victims posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the below support topic discussion.To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.

Thanks
