BSOD - Only when on FFXIV - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Hi everyone,

 

Recently my friends pc has been getting blue screens when running Final Fantasy. I've got the dump file and tried to analyse it, but I'm struggling to find any takeaways from it.

 

Note the machine has been overclocked for months without issue, but even when returned to default it still throws this error.

 

CPU - AMD Ryzen 1600 

Ram - G.SKILL TridentZ Series F4-3200C16D-16GTZB 8gbx2

Motherboard - Asrock AB350 Pro4

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, there is not any fixed reason that brings you the error, so there are many and the most common ones are

  • Faulty or outdated drivers
  • Incompatible hardware
  • Improper Disk fragmentation
  • Problematic Registry
  • Viruses and malware

If the crash occurs only when on FFXIV, I doubt there is much we can do. Likely a bug in FFXIV... have you tried contacting FFXIV support for help? What else have you tried?
