A loud hissing noise is coming predominantly from the right-side speaker on my laptop. I have a Toshiba Satellite P755-S5380. The computer also shuts down and cycles automatically into off and on mode. At other times it will stay off or power on by itself. My operating system is Windows 7 Home. Can someone please help me out?

oh no... it appears your Satellite is on its deathbed. I have personal experience with Toshiba Satellite and Satellite Pro laptops, particularly the older models. They are nice to use for the first few years, but they eventually come to a catastrophic end. This, my friend, is what you are experiencing. There is no sense in putting money into your machine at this stage, the issues will only persist, new ones will arise, and the system will inevitably become unusable...

Satellites do not last, from what I can tell
