This is probably not a Windows 7 issue, but since it occurred on my W7 machine...

A strange new icon suddenly appeared on a folder view, one I have never seen before.  I will attach an image.  I don't know the technical name for the administrator shield (?), (and that is new and has never been visible while viewing folders and files) but the blue circular ion that seems to be indicated a time period...that's new

Anybody have a clue what this is and why it suddenly would appear?  I haven't changed any system settings lately.

They only occur on CorelDraw files.

Thanks.

I contacted Corel and they said it was associated with AV or the firewall.  What's strange is that I haven't changed either recently and this suddenly appeared.

Does this happen only in your documents folder?

In your documents folder, you will find a hidden file with name desktop.ini.

What is the last modified timestamp of this file?

What is the content of this file?

I know how to show hidden files.  No, this icon suddenly appeared.  I have been using CorelDraw for decades and have never seen this before.  However, the icon is no longer visible.  I did nothing to remove it.

Hi,

If you suspect Malware, create topic in this forum. Try to disable Firewall and Antivirus
