Formatting flash drive for car use?

Guys, I formatted a flash drive as Ex-fat so it can work in both windows and mac but when the drive is put into a car audio it is not being recognized, can anyone tell me which format I would need for the drive's music to play in a car even if it can be formatted for only mac or windows please?

You'd expect FAT32 to be the required file system.

Would Fat32 work in windows and mac? Not required just checking, the main purpose is to get it to play in the car so I will reformat in Fat 32, thx!

A Mac can read FAT32.

It works fine in the car now with Fat32 guys, appreciate the help!
