I scheduled automatic restore points for every 3 days.  On 4-13, one was created.  In Task Scheduler, it says the last one was created on 4-16.  However, System Restore does not show that one, but also on that day, I installed and uninstalled a software, and one was created that way.

Question:  is the automatic restore point creation cancelled (substituted?) when a restore point is created for some other reason, for instance, when I installed/uninstalled the software?

Thanks.

I don't know for certain but an educated guess says that if a restore point was created when you made this software change, and if this happened before Task Scheduler was due to make one then the three days would have been re-set. What I am saying is that TD looks at the task and says there was a restore point made 10 minutes ago. Oh good, I can go back to sleep for the next 71 hours and 50 minutes !

Haha, okay.  Yes, I have checked it from the last few days and it seems to be working okay...every 3 days.

I wanted to verify this because, as you might see from some of my other posts, I have had a lot of problems with task scheduler and restore points, and after a huge amount of effort, I finally got them working.

This is good to know, thanks.
