The Ars Technica article you have linked is dated 5/1/2017, I'm not sure if your post question is in reference to the information about modern "Hackintoshes" and what's taking place, or if you want to know the status of the Apple iMac Pro. Since you have posted in the Mac OS forum, I'll share about the iMac Pro.
