Fujitsu Siemens E8010 Lifebook (Disassembly) issue with connector..

Hey there,

I'm looking to clean out my old old laptop, but right now i can't even connect these pins correctly into the thing (white with brown) i have tryed everything..

should i tape it, or what can i do? (its from the mousepad)

That ribbon looks like it uses a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connector. There are different types. Some use a flip up bar and others use tabs on each end. It could also be a ribbon cable that has to be pushed into the connector. How did you remove the cable.

The brown thing is flip up method, and i push the cable into the connector and push that brown thing down, but it won't fit.. :( i removed the cable with my hand (slowly) it's the cable from the Mousepad

can i leave it so, or does my Laptop need the mousepad to work correctly? :/ its like this connector shown below:

I can't make out too much from that image. You don't want to have a laptop without the mousepad but it would still function using a usb mouse. I would not force the brown tab down. Are you saying the ribbon does not fit into the connector or that the brown bar does not fully shut?

 

Edit: Is the second image the cable you are trying to attach or the first image.

I give it up, it was an really old laptop, i will throw it away because the FFC is damaged to control the motherboard and anything else, and i dont want to put money into something old.. but thanks for the help!
