I want to buy a new laptop for work.  Something decently powerful but portable (under 14inches under 5lb without an insane powerbrick) that can do some video editing with effects,  other content stuff and also a little gaming.  I was thinking either ASUS ZenBook 13 UX331 or Lenovo Ideapad 720s.

I was also looking at new more powerful options like the MSI GS65 with the 1070 around 2k. Its portable and seems to fit my needs. If I buy this it would probably be my main pc for a while.

I currently have a desktop with a 970gtx and i5 2500k.
Asus p8p67 mother board.

Am I better off buying the GS65 or buying something cheaper like the 720s and using the extra money to upgrade my desktop later down the line?

This is also not an extreme rush,  i can wait a few months if better options are right around the corner.

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? close when done
