Hello

I have an older PC that works well but could do with a GPU upgrade.

It's an Asus CG8480 motherboard with an I5 3570k CPU

It has a 1gb gtx 650 card and I've been trying to find a suitable 2gb replacment.
This page indicates the options are limited.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Motherboard is not that much problem but PSU may be. What PSU?

Thanks for responding.

I can't see any branding without removing the unit but it says 'max 430w' on the side that is visible.

Max 430W doesn't sound very good. I suggest you put another PSU too. Looks like normal ATX PSU.

So your budget is? Remember that mid to high end GPU's are VERY pricey right now.

I was going to upgrade the 3570k machine and give it to my daughter but anything I spend on it comes out of the budget for my new PC.

I'm now coming to the conclusion that spending £50 or so on a used 2gb card was a little optimistic.

I'll have to give it some thought.

Thanks for your time.

Oh, in that case, PSU might be just fine.

Do you have UEFI BIOS? If you can navigate menus with mouse, then it's probably UEFI.

Thanks to GPU prices right now now is not the beasat time to get a new GPU.

Give it like 3 months and maybe prices will come down.

I would say go get a GTX 1050Ti but now they are twice the price of what they should be.
