Hello all,

Thanks in advance for your help. Last night I had a few tabs open in Firefox and a tab popped up with a phone number claiming I was infected. I was able to close the tab without issue. I had Avira running and ran a scan after this. There was nothing detected. I ran mbam after this and no detection. I ran mbam in safe mode after hat and no infection.

When I ran mbam it needed to download an updated version and I ended up having to restart my computer a few times to get it to work. Possibl an issue from any malware if something did indeed wiggle into my system. I was researching fonts to use for a company logo. I don't even think I had opened anything from google at this point. I also had multiple tabs open at once and didn't see this right away so I don't know exactly what site this may have come from.

Just want to verify if I'm ok or not.

Thanks again for your help

Sounds like you 'landed' on a "phishing" site with a false alarm!

Should I take any further precautions? If MBAM isn't detecting any issues should I consider it safe and just move along or is there potentially some sort of deeper scan I should run to verify everything is in order.

Thanks for your reply

You can clean all temps using TFC: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/tfc/
This should help! Remember to reboot after cleaning all files.
